International Course on Environmental Accounting and Management. A workshop on general systems and ecological modelling was held at the School of Environment, Beijing Normal University, July 9-13, 2018. Instructors were Mark Brown and Francesco Gonella, assisted by Silvio Viglia and Gengyuan Liu.

EcoSummit 2016, Montpelier, France
ISAER participated in the EcoSummit 2016 held in Montpelier, France, August 29-September 1, 2016. It was organized by H.T. Odum’s student, William (Bill) Mitsch and several others. HT Odum and Sven Jorgensen were honored, and the ISAER had an active presence.
World Summit on Environmental Accounting 2016, Beijing, China
The World Summit on Environmental Accounting (WSEA) was held at Beijing Normal University, July 4-6, 2016. The theme title for the conference was Emergy Analysis for Designing a Prosperous and Sustainable Future. The WSEA was the first international conference sponsored by ISAER and ISAER’s China Chapter.

The 8th Biennial Emergy Research Conference was held at the University of Florida in Gainesville, FL from January 16 to January 18, 2014. The First International Social Transformation Conference
The First International Social Transformation Conference on the theme of “Energy Currency: Energy as the fundamental measure of price, cost, and value” was held in Split, Croatia on July 10-12, 2012. This conference on developing an energy-based currency was sponsored by the 40 foundation www.the40.org and the Emergy Society was invited to send a representative. The Executive Council nominated Mark Brown to be our delegate. Most of Mark's expenses were covered by the conference organizers. EcoSummit 2012
On behalf of the International Society for the Advancement of Emergy Research, David Tilley, Dan Campbell and Sergio Ulgiati organized a symposium for EcoSummit 2012 held from Sep. 30 - Oct. 5, 2012. The ISAER sponsored session was entitled "Emergy evaluation of sustainability: Quantifying ecosystem services, environmental debt and ecosystem restoration" and included eight speakers. In addition, there were two other sessions organized by Professor H.T. Odum's students and colleagues, including one on "the Prosperous Way Down" organized by Jay Martin of Ohio State University and Mark Brown of the University of Florida. In addition, Simone Bastianoni and Federico Pulselli of the University of Siena organized a workshop on “Unsustainabilty”. International School on Emergy Accounting organized by Dr. Francesco Gonella of the University Ca' Foscari in Venice sponsored an Emergy Short Course held from 17 - 21 June 2013. Mark Brown was the main lecturer. You may find information about the event at the following link:
