The Emergy Society supports various methods of communication among its members. Two primary communication tools are the Emergy Society Web Site and the Emergy List Serve. The new Emergy Society Website at this URL now includes Buddy Press, a powerful tool to support social networking and communication among Emergy Society members.
The Emergy List Serve allows any list serve member to post a message so that everyone can read it and comment on it. An application to join the List Serve can be found in this section.
Members will soon be able to post comments and questions on the Emergy Blog page, which is currently under construction. The Emergy Blog page will be devoted to topics of current interest to the membeship of ISAER. In addition, we plan to incorporate another new feature in the Communications section, the Technical Tips page, which will focus on little known, not well understood or controversial aspects of emergy evaluation. Both of these new features are intended to facilitate discussion and will be open to input from the membership.
At present, the Communications section includes 1) a catalog of up-coming events, 2) reports on conferences and meetings, 3) the Emergy Society Newsletter created by Enrique Ortega during his Presidency, 4) a list of new publications in emergy research, 5) an account of recent news and information and 6) the List Serve application. The sections on new publications and newsworthy items will not be very informative without current content, so members are encouraged to send in a short account of events that they have participated, the references to papers that they have published in the last 2 years and other information that might be of interest to ISAER members. References to new emergy research publications and other information of interest can be sent to email@example.com, until further notice. Finally, on this page, Simone Bastianoni, the Chairman of our Publications Committee has provided a list of the top 10 journals that have accepted publications on emergy research in the past.
