Dr. Mark Brown taught a short course in Emergy theory and methods at Beijing Normal University in June of 2014. Twenty seven new members joined the Emergy Society and paid dues at this time. The dues collected were divided between the China Chapter of ISAER and the parent organization. Since this short course two additional members from China have joined the Emergy Society. Please be patient, we are in the process of designing a new web site to better serve our members throughout the world.

The short course received unprecedented attention in China, even though it was hosted during the same time as exams and graduation. There were more than 80 participates from over 14 universities/institutes, which included Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, University of Macau, Tsinghua University, Peking University, Wuhan University, University of Science and Technology Beijing, China Agricultural University, China University of Geosciences (Beijing), Dalian University of Technology, South China University of Technology, Lanzhou University, Sichuan Agricultural University, The Chinese Academy of Sciences Shenyang Institute of Applied Ecology, Institute of Geography, Chinese Academy Sciences, National Institute for Environmental Studies of Japan.
Twenty-seven participants in the International Emergy Short Course joined the Emergy Society and paid membership dues after the course. We provided the option for members to pay dues for 3-years in one payment. In this way members can save time by not worrying about paying dues each year. We understand the importance of winning members with improved and more personalized services including financial convenience and on-line services.
